Art's last commercial recording session took place in San Antonio for Bluebird. As a result of this release Art's Columbia records were reissued on Vocalion and Perfect labels. It was reported Art signed a five year contract with Victor. The Bluebird record is the only Victor recording to be made.
Art continued to be active in radio. After his mother recovered, Art left St. Louis for Chicago WBBM in 1932. By 1933 he returned to St. Louis at KMOX. In July, 1933 there was a promotion Art Gillham Special train to the World's Fair in Chicago. In December, 1933 he went to Texas with Billy Smythe. He was made an honorary Texas Ranger. Art published The Art of Popular Piano Playing. He continued to move around on radio in St. Louis, Chicago, New Orleans
